Stay Home: Clay and Tool Kit
The Essentials: your own box of pottery tools. Perfect for exploring, sculpting, and honing your skills – (and nostalgic like the first day of school, when you get your new box of pencils – so perfect to have all the dedicated tools and objects for a new project). And a block of 3kg clay. Follow up on our guidance or let yourself loose. A few Clay options:
KANA Stoneware:
Our KANA Studio Stoneware clay is perfect if you want to create functional-ware like cups and bowls. This is real clay, and needs to be kiln-fired to 1200*C to turn your creations into usable pieces. After firing they become non-porous and suitable for use. You can just play, in which case, no need to fire at all, it’s all practice. Or, if you want to keep your pieces, we are offering “Add On: Fire and Glaze” – just deliver your work to our studio (once we’re open again) and we’ll do just this for you. We also running Glazing sessions, where you can come and do this yourself.
Air Drying Clay (Terracotta / Stone)
No firing, it will dry slowly over the course of 3-5 days. But unlike real stoneware, this is porous, and it is not food or liquid safe. Perfect for sculpture or making decorative pieces only. Or for practice! Follow up on our guidance or let yourself loose.
